This sewing course is for absolute beginners. Emma will show you how to thread your machine properly, wind a bobbin, set your machine tension, change your needle and make a small zipped bag to take home with you. All materials are provided and there will be opportunity to purchase some pre-cut kits to make more bags at home. If you have your own machine we recommend bringing it along so that you learn on your own machine. However, one can be provided if required, please let us know at time of booking. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

beginners patchwork and quilting
This course will show you all the basic skills to start patchwork and quilting and is suitable for complete beginners or people who can already sew and keen to learn a new skill. Emma will teach you how to cut fabric with a rotary cutter, piecing blocks, pressing, quilting and binding. The different threads and waddle will also be discussed in this workshop. Again please bring along your own machine, or we an provide one if required. Please let us know when booking. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.

parent/adult and child beginners sewing
Come and learn how to make your machine sewing project with your adult helper. Emma will show you how to thread your machine properly, wind a bobbin, set your machine tension, changing stitches and sewing safely. All materials are provided and including beginner friendly sewing machines, however please bring your own if you prefer. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided.
This workshop is suitable for children aged 8 and above.
Your adult helper will be free - just book one space.

Learn the craft of crochet, from the basic stitches to creating a traditional ‘Granny Square’. Starting at the very beginning: how to hold the hook and make your first stitches. In the afternoon, you will learn how to read a simple pattern and crochet a traditional ‘Granny Square’. All materials provided including a set of hooks for you to take home.
Courses run on selected Saturdays in Earls Barton from 10.30am to 4pm and Olney and Towcester from 11am to 3pm.
